THE HOW TO OF BILLY showcases a collection of innovative works under the series, “artefacts” by Technical Sculptor Timothy Holt. This selection of disciplined incarnations of objects questions their resemblance of the “manufacture programme” within the boundaries of art and design.
Holt’s first solo exhibition presents a selection of pieces which transform discarded domestic appliances into new forms, whilst retaining part of the original object. He playfully manipulates designed devices highlighting an embellishment of the everyday. Holt creates a sense of presence, through the spectators’ acknowledgement and physicality, whilst the issues addressed invite wider questions of our perception of assembled objects.
