I must apologise for the huge delay in the opening of this wonderful building but the conversion of a huge empty shell of a warehouse into 18 large studios with a gallery attached has been a mammoth and very complex undertaking. We really are very near to completion now however and the first five studios, together with the gallery, are now up and running - eighteen artists moved into their new studios over the Christmas and New Year period. Studios will now be opened up, one by one, as soon as they're finished, to welcome in the remaining 42 artists who have been waiting with such extraordinary patience.
BV Studios is also accepting applications at the moment for the last spaces available. The deadline for applications is 5pm on Tuesday 26th January and the selection will take place on the afternoon of Wednesday 27th January. We have now had three successful shows at Motorcade/FlashParade - the opening show - Thomas' Dream, the UK leg of the Collaboration project initiated by six artists from Munich, was a huge success. Thanks to everyone who came and thank you to the artists for creating such a great show to kick off the Motorcade/FlashParade programme.
Vice Versa, our second show was equally successful and was listed in the Guardian as one of the five best shows to see in the regions.
Black Rainbow was our final show of 2009 and showcased the work of five members of InterCity MainLine with a text by Marie-Anne McQuay. It was also the launch of the third issue of InterCity MainLine's zine, the Birmingham one... Plus the artists performed individual Pecha Kucha's around their work.
So here we are in 2010 and BALLY & BARNSTORMING.. enjoy..
