Motorcade/FlashParade is pleased to present WORK; new artwork by Matthew Roy Arnold and Liam Rush.

“Inspiration comes of working everyday” - Charles Baudelaire

For those who are not fortunate enough to be paid for the fruits of their labour the pursuit of Art has always been hampered with the obligation to work. To make a living can be stifling; often the balance between the 9-5 and the artistic career can be an awkward and problematic one, time restrictions, heady conclusions and illogical decisions are all deciding factors. Furthermore a level of compromise frequently overshadows practice and the ability to maintain integrity is challenged.

This show features work that challenges these problems; the work approaches alternative routes of production and fabrication and questions the ability to integrate ones personal practice within the confines of a ‘working’ environment.
